PJ's Seniors Exercise and Dance Program

At PJ’s Dancetique, we encourage seniors to get up and dance!!  We believe that active living programs such as gardening, exercise programs, walking programs, and therapeutic dance programs can be low-cost and enjoyable ways for seniors of many ages and abilities to enhance their physical, psychological and social health.  It has been medically proven that social dance is a path to physical, cognitive, and emotional health and wellness.  Staying active and learning new skills can help prevent dementia. In a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers found that people who ballroom-dance, an activity that provides a lot of intellectual stimulation (keeping in rhythm, memorizing steps, not mashing your partners' toes), have a lower risk of dementia.

Therefore, PJ’s Senior Exercise and Dance Club focuses on strength and flexibility and includes morning ballroom programs "where seniors can dance to the music they love."   Classes include lessons in waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha-cha, rumba, East Coast swing, and salsa and other forms of dance, plus yoga, Pilates, stretch and tone, strength training and salsa fitness.  Here at PJ’s Dancetique, we pride ourselves in providing seniors of many ages an enjoyable, safe environment, where you can come relax and meet new friends, and join activities to keep you busy. Most of all we want you to come have fun!! 

Our Senior Exercise and Dance Club meets every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.  Membership costs $15.00 per month or $5.00 per visit.  See our Calendar for dates and times and join here.

Youth and College Dancers

PJ’s Dancetique promotes the quality and the quantity of partner dancing among college students and youth of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.  In doing so, we ardently support the Youth and College Network, the student division of USA Dance, Inc. and sponsor the PJ’s Youth Dance Club and the PJ’s College Dance Club.  These clubs are organized according to the guidelines of the Youth and College Network, USA Dance.  Our clubs are open to all youth and college age dancers and include studies in ballroom, country-western, salsa, tango, and swing.  Are you a youth or college student? Dance Exercise Program

PJ’s Dancetique offers a Dance Exercise Program which combines Tango and Latin Dance movements and the music and rhythms of those dances, to create for you a world class cardio conditioning workout and program that will help you speed shrink your waistline and sculpt a lean, well toned body.  Ben De La Vega and his trained staff will get you moving and groving to the HOT Latin music in no time, starting with a warm up of Tango movements and continuing through Cha Cha, and then moving and grooving to the fun moves of Merengue, Salsa, Samba, and others, then winding down with the fluid movements of the exotic Rumba.  As you improve you body through these fun dance moves, you will learn the core Tango and Latin Dance movements essential to those dances.  You will be ready in no time for an amazing night out on the town!
